YouTube is offering Exciting New AI features on Mobile App

YouTube now offers Premium subscribers the chance to test two new AI features on the mobile app.

One of these features is conversational AI. Which stands out for its ability to answer your questions about a video and suggest other content. When watching “eligible videos,” you’ll notice an Ask button below the channel name.

Clicking it opens a chat interface, allowing you to ask any questions about the video or select from preset prompts if you’re unsure. This feature can provide a summary of the clip or suggest additional content.

Keep in mind that this feature is in an experimental stage. The conversational AI is exclusively accessible on the YouTube app for Android to users aged 18 or older in the United States. Interested individuals should act quickly, as it will only be available until December 15.

Summarize the Comments Now with AI

A comment summarizer, designed to organize “large comment sections” on mobile by breaking them down into individual topics, is the second AI feature. However, its availability will be limited to videos in English. To access the tool, go to the comments of a video and find the Topics tab with a star icon at the top. Clicking it opens a menu that highlights all ongoing discussions.

YouTube is rolling out the tool randomly, without being influenced by the channel’s popularity or the clip’s view count. Premium subscribers on Android and iOS can explore the summarizer until December 5 before YouTube removes it.

Playable games

There’s a third experimental feature called Playables, which consists of 30 games available on YouTube’s homepage. These games can be played anytime without the need for downloading. You can find them on the Home page or Explore menu as a separate entry on the left-hand side.

While there are no standout titles in the collection. It mostly offers puzzles and easy-to-pick-up games like solitaire, a Wordle knockoff called Hurdle, and Angry Birds.

Playables are accessible on both mobile and desktop and will be available for a limited time. Though longer than the AI tools. You have until March 28, 2024, to try out the collection before it’s removed. There’s no official launch date yet, and updates will be provided later.
