This information comes from Baiisun, who spent a lot of time making a list of exclusive games for both Sony and Microsoft’s latest consoles. According to the report, PlayStation had 60 exclusive games so far.

The list of exclusive games includes those that are only on Xbox for a specific time. For example, Guilty Gear Strive is now on Xbox, but it’s still considered exclusive in the list. This is also true for games that are exclusive to Xbox for a limited time.

Xbox vs PlayStation Exclusives: A Quick Overview

In general, the list shows that it had more exclusives. However, both platforms had plenty of great games to play. PlayStation released games like Demon’s Souls and Horizon Forbidden West since 2020. Meanwhile, Xbox launched Starfield, Redfall, Hi-Fi Rush, and Forza Motorsport in just one year. Microsoft plans to add more games to this list in 2024.

The report mentions a total of 109 exclusives for Xbox in this generation. Using the same criteria, PlayStation has around 105 exclusives.

Even though both platforms had highly-rated games, PlayStation’s exclusives received better critical reception on average with a score of 77.8/100 on OpenCritic. In comparison, Xbox’s games had an average score of 74.8/100.

Together, both consoles have released more than 130 exclusive games. Additionally, about 80 games have been announced as future exclusives for both platforms.

The report points out the distinct values each gaming company emphasizes in their ecosystem. PlayStation is currently placing more emphasis on individual games, whereas competitive platform is centered around Game Pass. Notably, more than 40 titles will be available on Game Pass from the first day in 2024.

In the end, no matter which platform gamers choose, there will be plenty of great games to play.
