GTA 6 isn’t just aiming to take over your screen — it’s coming for your phone, too. While we still have a few more months to wait before the release of GTA 6, Rockstar is already dropping hints that the overall experience will be well worth it.
There’s exciting news,GTA 6 is expected to launch with one right from the start.
This isn’t coming from a leak or insider rumor, but directly from Rockstar North. The studio behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise. A recent job posting on Rockstar’s official website reveals they’re hiring a mobile app developer with experience in both iOS and Android platforms.
The listing specifically mentions work on “interactive elements in a mobile application linked to a AAA title.” Given that Rockstar currently has no other known AAA project in development. It’s a safe bet that this is for it.
What Could the GTA 6 Mobile App Do?
A companion app could offer players a range of useful features. From inventory management and map access to stat tracking and integration with the Rockstar Games Social Club. These features were already present in GTA V’s mobile companion app, iFruit, which allowed players to customize vehicles, train Chop the dog and interact with characters’ social media.
GTA 6 is expected to be larger, more ambitious and more immersive than its predecessor. The return of a companion app makes perfect sense. In fact, Rockstar might take it even further this time. The app could evolve into a deeper extension of the game world. It can possibly offering mini-games, side stories, or real-time monitoring of the in-game economy, all from your phone.
Whatever features the app ends up including, one thing is clear: mobile devices will play a much more significant role in GTA 6. And for those of us who always have our iPhones within reach, that’s definitely something to look forward to.
