Resident Evil 5 Remake Rumored to be in the Development

Rumors suggest that Capcom may be planning to create a remake of Resident Evil 5 next.

Capcom has been doing well with the Resident Evil games recently. They have made new games that people like, and they’ve also remade old favorites like Resident Evil 4. Rumors are saying that Capcom is working on five new Resident Evil games.

They’ve announced Resident Evil 9, but there’s a rumor that RE 5 might be the next remake. Some fans might not be happy about this news.

The rumor about RE 5 comes from PRE_Alarabiya on Twitter (via Game Rant), which has given accurate Resident Evil news before. They think something is happening with Resident Evil 5 because of a recent update on Steam for the Resident Evil 4 Remake Gold Edition.

Just before that version came out, there was an update for a Resident Evil 5 package on the backend of Steam. This update removed the name, release date, and base game from the package. It’s been three years since the package was last updated. It makes many people think a remake of RE 5 could be coming soon.

It’s important to be cautious about this rumor. While it makes sense for Capcom to remake RE 5 after Resident Evil 4, they might also focus on other games in the series that need updates. Games like Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0 haven’t been updated for a long time and could use improvements.

Additionally, the original Resident Evil hasn’t had a second remake since the 2002 GameCube version. There are many possible directions for Capcom to take. And some fans might find a RE 5 remake less exciting. Hopefully, we’ll get more information about Capcom’s plans soon.

Next From Capcom

Right now, Capcom is focusing on releasing Dragon’s Dogma 2. It is an action RPG set to launch on March 22nd. They are also working on updates for Street Fighter 6 and preparing Monster Hunter Stories for a summer release.

After these projects, Capcom’s future plans are not clear yet. They will have another digital event on March 11th, and we might learn more then. However, major announcements might be saved for the usual summer time frame. It seems like something significant related to the Resident Evil series could be coming soon.
