Introducing Meta Quest 3, a special treat for your patience while waiting an extra 30 minutes for the keynote to start. It’s a headset model that boasts improved passthrough technology, higher-resolution displays, and better graphics. They also hinted at Meta Quest for business.

  • The full-color passthrough technology has ten times more pixels than its previous version.
  • It offers a 110-degree field of view.
  • This system is powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip.

Among these features are generative AI stickers that will soon be available on Meta’s messaging apps. This will enable users to easily create their own unique AI stickers within seconds across various Meta apps, including WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and even Facebook Stories.. 

Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses

If you’re in the market for some new eyewear, Meta has a solution with its latest offering: Ray-Ban smart glasses.

Here are the key features:

  • These glasses sport two circular modules on each side near your eyes. These modules house a 12-megapixel camera and an LED light that turns on to indicate when you’re recording.
  • You have the capability to live-stream from the glasses to your friends and followers.
  • With over 150 design combinations available, including various frame colors, styles, and lens options, you can customize them to suit your preferences.
  • Preorders are currently open in select markets, starting at $299 for standard lenses. If you prefer polarized lenses, they are priced at $329, and transition lenses will set you back $379.
  • In the near future, these glasses will also offer the ability to translate text.

Meta’s New AI Chatbots and Celebrity AI Characters

Meta is clearly positioning itself as a major player in the AI chatbot arena. They have unveiled several new AI-powered bots for their messaging apps.

One of these bots, called Meta AI, will be available on the newly revealed Quest 3 VR headset. It is designed to help users in various ways, such as planning group trips in a chat, answering general-knowledge questions, and providing real-time web results from Microsoft’s Bing search engine.

Additionally, Meta has introduced AI Studio, a platform that allows businesses to create AI chatbots for the company’s messaging services, including Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Initially, AI Studio is available in an alpha version, enabling companies to build AI personalities that match their brand’s identity and improve customer service interactions.

Regarding AI, it’s interesting to note that Meta has enlisted the support of numerous celebrities and influencers who have agreed to let Meta use their image for entertainment purposes. Currently, there are 28 AI characters inspired by well-known individuals from sports, music, social media, and other fields. These AI characters are entirely generated by artificial intelligence.
