However, some are considering using AI in the future. Meanwhile, ChatGPT, an AI language tool from OpenAI, gained 100 million users in just two months after its launch, setting a new record for rapid user growth.
AI in Education: A Necessity for Future Success
The message is clear: Schools shouldn’t ban AI. Instead, teachers should educate students on how to use AI responsibly and recognize ethical and unethical uses. Banning Artificial Intelligence in schools is like telling students in the 1990s to ignore the internet and stick to researching in libraries using the Dewey Decimal System. It’s a short-term solution that doesn’t make sense. We’re in a new era, and there’s no turning back.
In the upcoming years, students will need to distinguish between accurate and inaccurate information. Employers will look for workers who possess cognitive reasoning and judgment, along with the ability to integrate AI into the workplace.
Companies with employees skilled in these areas will thrive, while those unwilling to adapt may struggle or fail. That’s why American schools should teach about Artificial Intelligence instead of avoiding it. AI can’t replace human thinking entirely, but it’s valuable for tasks like content creation and data analysis. However, some uses of Artificial Intelligence can be harmful, so it’s crucial for schools to teach students how to use AI responsibly, safely, and ethically.
Embrace AI, Don’t Ignore

Educators must determine what students need to learn about AI, as ignoring this innovation would be a mistake. It’s important to establish guidelines now and teach students how to use AI responsibly since they’ll be using it regardless.
Failing to do so would mean putting one of the most powerful new technologies of recent decades into the hands of children without proper preparation or guidance.
