GTA 6 Exact Release Date and Time Confirmed by Rockstar

Set your alarm now! The debut trailer for GTA 6 will be released on Tuesday, December 5, at 9 am ET.

Rockstar Games confirmed this in the tweet below.

Get ready for the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, which will unveil what could become one of the most significant video games ever. In November, Rockstar stated that they would release the GTA 6 trailer in December. “We are thrilled to inform you that in early December, we will launch the first trailer for the next GTA. We anticipate many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

“We want to express our gratitude to players worldwide for the amazing support that has allowed us to create games we are truly passionate about. Without you, none of this would be possible. And we are sincerely thankful to all of you for joining us on this journey.

In 1998, we founded Rockstar Games with the belief that video games could become as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment. We hope that, in our efforts to be part of that evolution, we have created games that you love.”

GTA 6: A Decade of Rumors

Rumors about GTA 6 started circulating just over a decade ago after the release of Grand Theft Auto 5. These speculations were loosely mentioned in a 2020 Kotaku report. Which discussed Rockstar’s efforts to address crunch culture at the studio. The game’s existence was officially confirmed in a press release in 2022. Where the studio stated that development was “well underway.”

Later that same year, in-development footage of the game was leaked during a massive breach. Authorities eventually arrested a British teenage hacker in connection with the incident.

Since early 2023, there has been speculation about a release window for GTA 6. With predictions ranging from April 2024 to March 2025. This speculation arose when publisher Take-Two Interactive projected significant financial gains in that fiscal year. And achieving these gains without the contribution of the highly profitable Grand Theft Auto series would be challenging.
