Grok-1.5 Enhanced Version is coming – All You Need to Know

Elon Musk’s AI company xAI announced on Thursday that it’s rolling out an upgraded edition of its chatbot Grok. The new version, named Grok-1.5, will soon be accessible to early testers and current Grok users on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, according to a statement from xAI.

The startup highlighted that one of the significant enhancements in the new version is its capabilities in coding and math-related assignments.

Elon Musk established xAI last year as an alternative to Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google. He aimed to develop what he termed a “maximum truth-seeking AI.” In December, the startup introduced Grok for Premium+ subscribers of X.

Just recently, Musk announced that xAI would make Grok open-source. This decision came shortly after Musk’s legal actions against OpenAI, alleging that the organization had veered from its initial mission towards a profit-oriented model.

Grok-1.5 features

Improved Math Solving Skills

Grok initially achieved a benchmark score of 62.9% on the GSM8K assessment. However, the latest version, Grok 1.5, has demonstrated substantial progress by achieving a score of 90% on the GSM8K benchmark. Additionally, it obtained a score of 74.1% on the HumanEval benchmark, indicating enhanced capabilities in code generation and problem-solving tasks.

Enhanced in Understanding of Longer Texts

Grok 1.5 has the capability to process longer pieces of text compared to its previous version, showcasing an advancement in its text processing abilities.

In recent news, Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman for breach of contract. Musk claimed that Altman had strayed from the company’s original mission, which was to develop artificial intelligence “for the benefit of humanity broadly.”
